Who raves about salt? Um, I do. I grew up with Redmond Real Salt and took it for granted…until I went out on my own as a young man. While living in Scotland for a couple years I only found table salt, which tasted strange and “chemically.” So when I moved back to the U.S. for college, I quickly looked for my gourmet salt. Ever since then, all has been right with the world!
Obviously table salt (a.k.a. Sodium Chloride) has it’s place in certain recipes, but in my opinion, Redmond Real Salt tastes much better when seasoning most foods. In fact, back in the 1950’s, some Utah farmers were selling this salt to other farmers, for their animals. The customers somehow decided to try the animal’s mineral salt on their own food, and word spread like wildfire…people were hooked. Now Redmond’s salt can be found far and wide.
