Movie: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

Of all the new computer animated cartoons, I think this is the funniest! This past summer my wife and I set out blankets, dinner, and the laptop computer out on our deck, so we could enjoy a fun date…well, almost a date…my two-year-old son tagged along. I didn’t know what to expect from Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, but since getting turned on to the $1 RedBox movie rentals, the financial risk was minimized. Here’s a preview of what we saw:

I couldn’t believe how funny this movie was. My son was definitely mesmerized, but my wife and I were laughing so hard that our mouths hurt. The humor is appropriate, but definitely geared toward adults…especially if you like humor that makes fun of human nature.

The film has a good plot line and well-developed characters, but is also very inspiring for those of us who aspire to make a big difference in the world. I was especially excited to Flint Lockwood’s poster of Philo T. Farnsworth, the inventor of television, but also my grandpa’s 1st cousin! My family loves this moving. It is especially popular with my 10 and 14 year old boys, but the 18 year old, 20 year old and 23 year old and four year old also enjoyed it, as did I. Fun movie.
