I just wanted to show a quick July 4th Cake that my wife and I made yesterday to celebrate America’s Independence Day!
This flag cake is now one of our favorite July 4th recipes, and can be found on page 239 of The America’s Test Kitchen Family Baking Book (one of our new favorite cookbooks):
One important note: when America’s Test Kitchen Recipes tell you to use unsalted butter in the frosting…listen! We had to redo the frosting. America’s Test Kitchen doesn’t throw unnecessary ingredients or steps into their recipes, just to make them seem more fancy. They create their recipes with precision, so pay attention.
