Traditions are the cement that bind families together. So my wife and I are always trying to think of new and exciting traditions to institute for our family. This Halloween we came up with some great ideas.
Santa brings presents at Christmas. The Easter Bunny brings candy and eggs. Patrick the Leprechaun brings treats on St. Patrick’s Day (at least in our house). Our kids excitedly look forward to these “mystical visits” each year. So we wondered why not find out who brings treats on Halloween!
Well, we did a little research and discovered that “The Great Pumpkin” brings treats to good boys & girls on Halloween. But there’s a few caveats, which is why the Great Pumpkin hasn’t visited your house…yet.
Rule #1: You must believe and expect the Great Pumpkin (this is where most people have failed up until now).
Rule #2: You must set out, and decorate, a creepy Halloween tree.
Rule #3 (and my favorite): Before kids go to bed on Halloween Eve night, they must leave some yummy chocolate treats out for the Great Pumpkin.
That’s it! And then you’re on your way to having years of memorable Halloweens!
